What breeds is the MaxControl good for?
It's a great fit for dogs that pull or have a lot of energy — French Bulldog owners, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and big, lively dogs in general tend to get on really well with it.
How does it help stop my dog pulling?
It's made from a firmer material rather than a stretchy one, so it holds its shape and gives more structure than our adjustable range — while still staying comfortable. It has three clips, including a safety clip, so it can be adjusted to fit securely around your dog's chest. There's also a top handle placed right on top, giving you extra hands-on control whenever you need it, and it works with either a rope lead or a regular lead clipped on there.
Does this go over my dog's head?
No — all the clips are on the side, so it fastens around your dog rather than going on over their head. A lot of dogs aren't keen on things being pulled over their head, so this is a real plus for those dogs.
What lead should I pair with it?
We have matching accessories for every design, but a lot of owners choose one of our coloured rope leads to pair with it rather than a standard lead.
What's the difference between the MaxControl and the MaxComfort harness?
The MaxComfort is made from a stretchy neoprene, which suits small, medium and some larger dogs and gives a more comfortable fit if your dog doesn't pull much. The MaxControl doesn't have that same stretch, but it offers more support and control for dogs that do pull — so it really comes down to what your dog needs.
